One of my favorite patterns right now is Ikat. It's like a tribal/Aztec design. It is known for bright colors and visible brushstrokes making this a fun and easy design!
For colors, you can really use any you want. They don't even have to be bright if you don't want to, you could use black, grey, or white schemes. It is just preferable to have at least four colors.
So, the colors I used:
-aqua
-black
-white
-orange
Start off by painting a base coat. My base was the aqua.
Once dry, take a white striper and just create lines. I created almost a diamond shape to the lines just so it looks a little more "tribal-ly".
Next, with a black striper, make brushstrokes around the white to frame it.
Then, with an orange striper, inside the white, create a smaller shape of the diamond.
Finally, taking the black striper again, just create a few brushstrokes inside the orange.
Finish with a top coat and you're done!
This design is one of my favorites already and I hope you enjoy it! ♥
